Talentino's international career under Marcello Lippi could now be over...

Marcello Lippi has announced his Italy squad for the friendly against Northern Ireland on June 6, and Antonio Cassano has again been left out.

Rino Gattuso returns after long-term injury and there are eight new players called-up, including Cagliari goalkeeper Federico Marchetti and Inter youngster Davide Santon.

Lippi has released two lists, one are his call-ups for the friendly in Pisa and the other is 13 players that will certainly be taken to the tournament in South Africa in mid-June.

The players called up to face Northern Ireland are:

Goalkeepers: De Sanctis (Galatasaray), Marchetti (Cagliari); 
Defenders: Cassani (Palermo), Dossena (Liverpool), Gamberini (Fiorentina), Grosso (Olympique Lione), Esposito (Lecce), Legrottaglie (Juventus), Santon (Inter)
Midfielders: Biagianti (Catania), Brighi (Roma), D’Agostino (Udinese), Galloppa (Siena), Gattuso (Milan), Montolivo (Fiorentina), Palombo (Sampdoria)
Strikers: Foggia (Lazio), Mascara (Catania), Pazzini (Sampdoria), Pellissier (Chievo), Rossi Giuseppe (Villarreal)

Meanwhile, below is the players already confirmed to take part in the Confederations Cup, Lippi will add another ten names from the previous list to round out the squad.

Italy kick off their campaign on June 15 against the United States, in a group that also contains Brazil and Egypt.
