Riva Expects 'Exciting' Italy - Brazil Match; Claims Lippi Only Calls Those In Form

Luigi Riva

Luigi Rivas believes a great match is in store for fans when Italy face Brazil and also commented on the absence of Del Piero and Cassano from the squad...

Italy will play Brazil on Tuesday in a prestigious friendly encounter at the Emirates in London.

Italian football legend, Luigi Riva, now a director with the national team, discussed that match on Monday, as well as Marcello Lippi's squad selection.

"We want to win very much, as this is a prestigious match. Our opponents will want to prove they are strong, as we are the current world champions. What kind of game do I expect? An exciting one as these are two of the best teams in the world," Italy's all-time top scorer told Sky.

Marcello Lippi has once again left out the talented duo of Juventus talisman Alessandro Del Piero and Sampdoria striker Antonio Cassano.

"Lippi has always said he will only name those who are in form," Riva responded, when questioned about their absence.

Riva was involved in the 1970 World Cup, when Italy were beaten 4-1 by Brazil in the final.
